Nursing is such a personal decision and beautiful experience. It looks easy but It can be really challenging. Patience and practice - to get the hang of latching on, best position that works for you both.

My breastfeeding experience for the first month.., OMG!

It hurt for a while. Like really! To ease the pain, I used Medela nipple shields and cream for sore/cracked nips. Warm compress, helped me too..

I advise for the new moms out there, to get the cream because I am telling you, it hurts at first! The cream help them to heal.. Or maybe to avoid spending, apply breastmilk before and after breastfeeding. Anyway, you’ll get through it! Right now, Jacque’s about 7 months that means I am almost 7 months exclusively breastfeeding, and I feel nothing, means, I can put Jacque there without any pain. Lol :))

Let’s talk about taste, baby. Did yours change after having your little?

Mine did, I became a big-eater, and I imagine it had something to do with nursing Jacque, whom loves to eat! After pushing Jacque out, my appetite increases! My hunger became out of control since I turned to be a human milk machine. I used to hate vegetables then. I barely ate them until I started to try to up my milk supply. Now, I love vegies! After I did what I had to do, it greatly increased. I searched a list of nursing-friendly foods and with that in hand, I carefully ensured I had enough of the right stuff, while avoiding things that might cause my little lady discomfort.

To increase milk supply. Here are the list of food that may help increase your milk supply..

For myself, I breastfeed often, or on demand. I eat more of nuts/almonds, oatmeal cookies, green veggies, soup and drink more water.. I heard beer helps to have more milk too. So once in a while, I drink a cup of beer. Not everyday, but twice to thrice a week. It really helps though. I do not think there is side effects for the baby. After drinking a cup of beer, I just wait for about 30 minutes to feed her. Recently, I discover this drink that also makes my supply greater, the drink called Paul Brassac Sparkling Juice. Oh, also, Jugo Juice Kale Smoothies! With these drinks, I find myself fuller and even leaked at night.

When Jacque was two weeks, Jacque had colic for maybe. She would scream for an hour and looked in pain. She only slept on me, I could not put her laid flat.. It was horrible. I usually tried burping her after each feedings, elevated her while feeding, and held her upright after feeding. I found that she felt some tummy discomfort whenever I had chocolate milk, grapes and chocolates. So I avoided those.

Let's me share you the food list to avoid, to prevent baby discomfort, colic and reflux..

Even I avoided the list though, I do not know, she still had a bit of discomfort. So I asked her Pedia to give her Probiotic drops to prevent tummy aches. She was on probiotics for about a month. Probiotics helped her a lot.

If you are breastfeeding, enjoy the special bonding.. I just love it when she looks right into me, puts her hands unto my breast or holds my hand or pulls my hair even while breastfeeding. I will surely miss these moments in time, eventually..

Jacque, right now is still breastfeeding and eating food! I am telling you she loves to eat. I am beyond glad that she is healthy. Let’s hope she would not be like me when she grows up, you know, very picky and hate greens. I hope she becomes her dad, who eats anything, especially vegetables opps and like me, who eats fish. :))

Anyway!
